The proposals include an offer of an agreement in premise to partner with Hof to compete at ICANN's Next Round for approval to create and manage several new generic Top Level Domains
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Saint Charles, Missouri – On February 2, 2025, at 2:45 pm ET, Hof transmitted a set of nine ideas to the Hill's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) caucus, offering ideas aimed at enhancing efficiencies and optimizing taxpayer resources. Hof's nine proposals align with DOGE’s mission to improve efficiency and accountability in Federal governance.
"These ideas are intended to contribute to ongoing discussions on making government operations more effective and responsive," said Joseph Hof, Managing Attorney of Hof. "We appreciate the opportunity to present these concepts for consideration."
The proposals submitted include a strategic Federal partnership leveraging digital infrastructure and high-tech jobs for scalable and sustainable revenue-creating solutions involving Hof's current efforts to apply to the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers's (ICANN) Applicant Support Program during the 1H of this CY, to compete for the management of several new generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs). While the specific domains remain unnamed at this time, this initiative represents an exciting opportunity to create structured, revenue-generating digital spaces that align with broader governmental and emergency response objectives. "This is a significant step forward for our firm and our business enterprise, and we are thrilled about the potential opportunities this initiative could unlock," said Joseph Hof. "Our team is committed to exploring innovative solutions that contribute to efficiency and resilience in both public and private sectors, while inviting who we believe to be essential stakeholders to the table to have an opportunity to participate in ownership and operation of our newly proposed gTLDs, especially those folks in the private nonprofit space," said Joe.
Other ideas include the expansion of post-incident continuous improvement feedback loops to include a broader range of perspectives in disaster response improvements including historically unrepresented populations such as folks with prior legal system experience and folks in entertainment; the establishment of a Federal Class Action Corporation to provide an additional option to improve the administration of class action settlements; a review of FEMA’s placement within DHS to assess potential structural efficiencies; streamlined Public Assistance grant administration for non-State recipients to address procedural burdens; consideration of nation-building strategies for post-Assad Syria, informed by Federal catastrophic disaster recovery efforts; geospatial representation updates to enhance diplomatic and economic collaboration between the U.S. and Mexico; the reinstatement of in-person hearings at key federal employment tribunals to support due process; and a review of FDIC receivership processes to ensure alignment with housing and financial oversight responsibilities.
These proposals reflect an interest in fostering dialogue on pragmatic solutions to improve government functions. Hof Law, LLC appreciates the work of DOGE in addressing these challenges and looks forward to future discussions on these important topics.
