DOGE 11.0 highlights the inefficiencies that arise when Federal agencies deploy hardware and software from different vendors
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Greater Saint Louis Metropolitan Area, State of Missouri – March 21, 2025 – As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing government efficiency, Hof has formally submitted a proposal advocating for the adoption of single-vendor Information Technology (IT) ecosystems within Federal agencies. On March 19, 2025, the firm faxed the idea pitch to Senator Josh Hawley’s office and mailed the idea to The Hill, and, specifically, Congressmen Bean, Moore and Sessions of the bipartisan House Department of Government Efficiency Caucus for consideration.
The proposal, which constitutes the firm's eleventh idea pitch to the DOGE caucus since February 2, 2025, highlights the inefficiencies that arise when Federal agencies deploy hardware and software from different vendors, leading to increased operational complexity, higher costs, and diminished technological performance. Drawing from firsthand experience within Federal leadership, Joseph Hof broadly provided how agencies currently operating with fragmented IT ecosystems—such as Apple hardware paired with Microsoft software—face integration challenges that could be mitigated through vertical alignment with a single-vendor solution.
A shift toward vertically integrated IT ecosystems—such as procuring both hardware and software from providers like Apple Inc., Microsoft Inc., or Oracle—could result in:
- Optimized Technological Performance – Seamless software-hardware integration for improved efficiency and security;
- Procurement and Contracting Efficiencies – Streamlined vendor management, licensing, and IT support;
- Cost Savings – Reduced government IT expenditures through standardization; and,
- Enhanced Security and Compliance – Fewer interoperability risks across federal networks.
Hof has now submitted eleven proposals to the bipartisan House DOGE Caucus, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to promoting actionable solutions that deliver value to taxpayers and improve federal operations. The firm is referring to this idea proposal as, "DOGE 11.0".
As this proposal moves forward, we encourage continued dialogue on the importance of technology modernization and strategic procurement practices in government.
